Smoke Over Washington, D.C.

Since the afternoon of Tuesday (9 June 2015), Washington, D.C. has experienced smokey skies. I noticed it while out in Virginia. I used to live in Los Angeles, so I know what wildfire smoke (and skies) look like.

When I got home, I discovered that there are over 50 wildfires burning across Canada. The smoke from these wildfires got picked up by the jet stream and have been carried thousands of miles to the D.C. area.

I only captured a couple of poor-quality mobile phone photos yesterday, but today I was better-prepared and brought my nice camera with me to the roof of my building. These photos are unedited (besides the watermark). Enjoy!

Have you had smoke from the wildfires where you are?
